The Truth and Facts about George!

News Alert - For Immediate Release 27 February 2006

End of Discussion for the Consumer Watchdog

In a drastic gesture Consumer Affairs

Victoria has issued a media release to end the debate about the Today Not Tomorrow Institute declaring no grounds for any action on the consumer watchdog’s part.

It was an unusual step but on November 25, 2005 Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) has issued a media release acknowledging that as a result of their investigation into the activities of the Today Not Tomorrow Institute (TNTI), there are no grounds to take action against the Institute or its management. No doubt that over two hundred signed, personal petitions from TNTI’s customers have expedited this action.

CAV’s media release states that TNTI offers a coaching regime for people seeking to create multiple streams of income as a means of wealth creation. CAV also advises consumers to approach any seminars that offer investor opportunities with care.

This advice is welcomed by TNTI, who would like to put as much distance as possible between themselves and the scams that bluntly operate in the marketplace, and TNTI sees Consumer Affairs’ guidelines as a positive sign next to its name.

Mr

George Mihos, founder of TNTI, whose name has been dragged into the debate along with his company, said that he feels relieved by this statement but the battle for the good name of the financial education industry, which provides much needed knowledge and information to the public, is only just beginning.

“In today’s day and age, when Australians look to a very uncertain financial future and bleak prospects for the aging population with concerns about the levels of pension and superannuation savings, knowledge is the key to ensuring that Australia remains ‘the lucky country’ for this and for the next generation. We provide and encourage this knowledge”, said Mihos.

“While we don’t use the term ‘regime’ in the context of our programs, CAV has captured it very well. TNTI doesn’t merely provide information for ordinary people to take control of their financial future. We do provide a ‘coaching regime’ by offering our graduates an ongoing support through mentoring, continuous learning and a networking forum where they can work at their own pace and implement their knowledge rather than being discouraged by failure when left to their old habits. Unfortunately this happens a lot with isolated seminars, even very good ones, often offered by very reputable organisations”, said Mihos.

Mihos acknowledges that the wealth creation industry has been scarred deeply with the legacy of greedy people and the suffering of families as their lives had been destroyed. The battle to minimise the risks will continue and the public must be protected and informed about the dangers. TNTI and other ethical companies that provide genuine financial education encourage everybody to visit the CAV website, identify what scams to be aware of and how to identify and avoid them.

“And don’t sign anything or give money to anyone who promises you quick and huge return. The most commonsense advice I can give to anyone is that if it looks too good to be true, it often is. Investigate: knowledge is very empowering”, says a relieved Mihos. For the CAV media release refer to: http://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/CA256F2B00231FE5/page/Listing-cavNovember2005-25-11-2005+-+TODAY+NOT+TOMORROW+INSTITUTE+PTY+LTD?OpenDocument&1=74-2005~&2=11-November~&3=~&REFUNID=A719CDB2FCBC6193CA2570C3001BF35A~

Great to speak with you today George.

As you know the information that I have learnt from you over the past few years has been great and it has definately helped myself and my family towards a better future!

As I have been working very closely with you and your fabulous clients on the real estate front, I thought it would be great to share with others the 5 top questions to ask a Property Manager - so here they are;

1. What are the areas(suburbs) you cover - the more areas a PM covers the wider catchment range they will have for your prospective tenants

2. Will you be managing my property - a lot of agencies are moving towards employing Business Development Managers or New Business Managers. These people are great at getting new business for the agency but are not who will be managing your property. This is ok but make sure you meet with the PM who will be managing your property!

3. Ask how many properties your PM will be managing…the more properties they manage the less time they will have to spend on yours!

4. It is important to know the position of the PM within the agency…are they just an employee…do they care about the business….how long will they be there for?

5. How often is your property inspected? reported to you and are your renovations/maintence managed pro actively instead of reactively. Inspections is the first thing promised and the first thing forgotton once the business is gained. Rental properties in Victoria can be inspected after the 3rd month of tenancy and every 6 months there after.

If you would like more inforamtion, you or your clients have any queries on the above or any other real estate issues you are welcome to contact myself by replying to this message and looking forward to hearing from you and once again thanks George for not only changing my life but to so many that I am in cointact with on a regular basis.

As a man who abhors any kind of injustice, I would like to post the following comments as a reply to an article about George Mihos, written and published by Neil Jenman. This article epitomizes the sensationalist, cheap publicity seeking individual, who displays no qualms about jumping on a band wagon “half cocked”, echoing and expanding the views expressed by others, equally unresearched.

“This response is directed to Neil Jenman:

I have known Mr George Mihos long enough, both on a personal level and as a close business partner, to have allowed me to form a different opinion to that you have of him, or directly allowed to be printed, for two reasons.

Firstly, you have a history of vicious and attritional attacks on anyone who seemingly, or factually, does not faithfully and unquestionably ascribe to your own business principles.

Secondly, I find it difficult to reconcile the fact that someone like yourself, a self proclaimed Messiah who has been anointed by some unseen higher power (mysterious to all but yourself) to save the world, can allow such defamatory comments to be published on your website without so much as having taken the trouble to get to meet, know, or understand, the human being you so freely and enthusiastically condemn.

Surely a man who has adopted the moral higher ground and placed himself above all others, as you have, would, necessarily be able to apply sound value judgements such that would preclude him from forming a published opinion that would not be based on a totally balanced point of view, but exclusively on hearsay evidence (the kind of evidence that is inadmissible in any Court of Law).

While Mr Mihos has his detractors, I have never seen a single comment attacking his integrity or honesty. He is, above all, a businessman who offers a service for which there is clear demand, if one is to judge it from the number of Mr Mihos’ free Seminar attendees. At no time has it been reported that said attendees have had a gun placed at their temples and compelled to sign up for anything.

Now of course Mr Mihos’ offering has been accused of being “similar” to others. To anyone willing to judge this fact with an open and fair mind, this reported anomaly makes perfect sense, actually. Why, you may ask. Simple: since Mr Mihos proposes to offer his undergraduates a means to wealth (the ins and outs of which I will not comment on), it stands to reason that his approach would overlap with that of all others in the field, but virtue of the fact that Property and Equity investments, to name but two, are clearly two investment vehicles that have delivered reliable and consistent returns over many years. The point of difference between wealth management coaches lies in the recommended methodology that is advocated by each, with which to generate the best returns possible. I can safely venture to say that Mr Mihos’ approach differs from that of others.

Lastly, I have not seen any reports that have delved in Mr Mihos’ investment methodologies efficacy at generating income. Indeed, even a fee that would be charged by Mr Mihos, were it as high as $10,000, would seem a relatively insignificant amount in light of the return on a single investment in a single property, over a 12 month period.

I lament, and am aghast at, the one sided, self promoting comments made by you and others that are cowardly and clearly unresearched, rendering them fundamentally unjust, anecdotal and worthless in the eyes of any level headed reader. These comments are primarily designed to make you look good as the holder of the higher moral ground. Well wake up to yourself, Mr Jenman, and count the number of Real Estate Agents who have deserted you and your hairy fairy Grand Designs and those in the eyes of whom you have become a laughing stock.

I am happy to report that I have come to know Mr Mihos as both a friend and business partner. In all our dealings, bar none, I have found him to be honest to a fault, totally reliable, diligent and a man of his word. He is a hard working, astonishingly sincere, driven man who truly believes in the value of his contribution to others. In him I do not see a predatorial, opportunistic, man, but one who conducts his business in a manner that may indirectly, seemingly, emulate that of others’.

For that he is unjustly judged and condemned.

Finally, as Jesus Christ, the true Messiah, said: “Let he who can see the splinter in another man’s eye not judge him, when he cannot see the tree trunk in his own” (loosely paraphrased).

Mr Jenman, your credibility has been under attack for quite some time now. The kind of judgmental behavior your display is doing little to restore what little credibility you once had, if any.

Joseph
