George’s Wealth Pilgrimage…The Meaning of Life – Living on Purpose? Add Value First!

Your “60 Day Personal Wealth Pilgrimage” continues today.

Today’s lesson is all about the value that you provide to others. You see, the amount of money you make is directly proportional to the amount of value you provide to others.

Imagine if you will someone who is on the dole, who also works cash in hand without declaring his extra income. While at work he does the absolute minimum possible to hang on to his job and provides little or no value for his boss or for anyone else. Yes, you may say “He is cheating the system” and that is certainly true. But most of all he is cheating himself.

For a start, he is coming from a poverty mentality - “There isn’t enough money to go around so I’m out to get whatever I can for me”. He is also robbing himself of peace of mind, knowing in his heart that what he is doing is wrong.

There is no doubt that in some way his conscience would be bothering him. Is this any way to live? Where is the sense of personal satisfaction, achievement, the peace of mind? There isn’t any.

Where is the hard work and the dedication and determination to succeed? Where’s the passion for life? There is none. So if you want to get rich, you have to be the very opposite of our imaginary friend. You have to provide value to others first and then the money follows. If you’re in a job, turn up on time, put yourself forward, show your initiative. You may or may not be rewarded by your immediate boss, but once you start putting in 10% extra it’s a rule that the universe will reward you for your extra effort.

If you run your own business, how can you make your product or service better? How can you help your customers to achieve their goals and make them feel good about themselves? What can you do to improve the lives of all your staff and suppliers? Focus on being passionate about what you do and helping others by adding value first, and the money will follow. In a world full of boring, ordinary, plain vanilla “me too” businesses, be passionate about what you do and make doing business with you an experience to be remembered. L

et’s picture a typical everyday plumber. Now, we all know the number one and two complaints about tradesmen don’t we? Just in case you don’t, here they are…·   Tradesmen are never on time and… ·   Tradesmen never clean up after themselves One day, our friend the plumber (let’s call him Tom) decides he’s going to be different. On Friday morning you wake up and your toilet has blocked up and you have the in laws arriving for the weekend. You need a plumber NOW and you can’t afford to wait around the house all day because you have important business meetings. You pull out the Yellow Pages and see ad after ad for “Bill Smith’s Plumbers”, “Fred Blogs Plumbers” and so on. You really don’t know who to call. They all look the SAME. And then you see Tom’s ad. It says…“At last… A Plumber who turns up on time and who also cleans up after himself. If for any reason whatsoever we’re late, we’ll pay you $100 for every hour we’re behind. Call Tom on 1800 000 000″.

Who are you going to call now? It’s a no brainer that you’re going to call Tom isn’t it? But why? Well, straight away he’s blown your two biggest concerns out of the water. He’s ADDED VALUE to you right from the start. When Tom arrives at your house, he fixes your blocked toilet in no time. He brings a drop sheet with him and is careful not to make a big mess. But then he cleans up what little mess he has made and leaves your place spotless.

IN fact, while he’s there he spends 20 minutes and actually vacuums your whole house. When he leaves, your house is actually cleaner than when you arrived. He has added value. It didn’t cost him much, just a little bit of his time. But what do you think your wife will say when she arrives home, expecting to have to clean up the house before her parents arrive for the weekend. “Thanks darling for vacuuming the house” she says. “Oh it wasn’t me, it was the plumber” you say. “The plumber?!?!” she asks, incredulous. “Yes, the plumber” you say. Now, can you imagine what your wife is going to tell her girlfriends about this plumber?

Can you imagine the word of mouth business he would receive? It wouldn’t be long before he would need another 10 plumbers working for him. And why?Because he chose to focus on people’s needs and wants, and to add value first.

It doesn’t necessarily take up hours of your time or cost a fortune to add value, try it out, you might be very pleasantly surprised. Find out more with today’s lesson and if you haven’t already done so, grab one of the remaining Free Lifetime Charter Memberships to my “Wealth Insiders Club” at
